After 15 years and 100’s of success stories, Philip Smyth is giving up his role as North Island coordinator of the NZTBA Foster Foal Service.
Known for his calm demeanor and how efficiently he handled a difficult situation, Smyth will be missed by breeders in the area.
Among his success stories are Self Obsession, the soon to be crowned winner of the New Zealand Bloodstock 3YO Filly of the Year.
Cambridge couple Derval and Roy Latimer will take over the service this season. Originally from Ireland, they settled in the Waikato about seven years ago. While much of their spare time revolves around family, they also share an interest in thoroughbred breeding, being the parents of Jude Latimer, co-owner of Lansdowne Park.
After a break of several years, they are excited at the prospect of once again being involved have appreciation of the many challenges facing breeders. They recognise the value of the Foster Foal Service and look forward to facilitating its success.
The Foster Foal phone number remains the same 021 4AFOAL or (021 43625) while in the South Island the representative is Anna Miles on 021 0348039.
