The New Zealand Horse Ambulance Trust was established in 2016 for the purpose of funding, procuring and operating a national fleet of horse ambulances. The Horse Ambulance Trust is one away from a goal they set back in 2016 to fund and procure ten horse ambulances. The custom made ambulances have a full hydraulic suspension system and are designed to give injured horses the best support for a positive outcome. With the public's help they are fundraising for a final horse ambulance which will cover the South Auckland region and ensure that an ambulance can attend every race meeting and equestrian event in New Zealand.
Help the NZ Horse Ambulance Trust to raise funds for a tenth equine ambulance that will cover the South Auckland area.
Each purpose built horse ambulance costs $95,000 to build and in addition requires a towing vehicle = a total of $150,000. Together with our National Equine Welfare Partners and supporters we have raised funds for nine horse ambulances.
Will you help #CompleteTheFleet and raise the funds needed for no. 10?
The equine ambulances have a full hydraulic suspension system, which means they can be dropped to the ground and raised again. This is important as it means when a horse is injured there is far less stress on the animal than having to walk up or down a ramp.
The units have been designed by equine veterinary surgeons and supported by the NZ Veterinary Association.
The NZ Horse Ambulance Trust is a registered charity (Charities Services no. CC53589) and donors are eligible for a tax credit.
