2019 mare returns are due by 28 February 2020. There is a penalty of $120.00 for late lodgement.
Owners are responsible for registering their mare as a broodmare after she is covered for the first time and for maintaining her registration in the Stud Book until she is retired from breeding or is sold or leased out. Owners must lodge a return every season even if the mare does not produce a live foal or isn’t covered.
You can complete your return:
· On-Line via Breeders Service Centre (BSC)
If you have used the BSC in the past your log-in and password is still valid. If you would like to register for this option or have forgotten your log-in, email studbook@nztr.co.nz with your name and the name of a mare you own, and we will send you codes to access this secure part of our website. Please note, only credit/debit card or POLI payments are accepted online.
· Over the Telephone
Call (04) 576-6240 and choose Option 3 to speak to someone from the Stud Book (Monday – Friday from 9.00am until 5pm). You’ll need to provide the result of the 2018 service (date of birth, colour and gender for a live foal), and the name of the 2019 covering stallion (the stallion owner will confirm service dates).
The following fees apply if registration is completed by 28 February 2020 (after this the late penalty applies):
$75.00 – annual entry fee per mare
$120.00– DNA laboratory fee for the foal.
There is a 10% discount on fees if paid by credit/debit card or internet banking (via POLI link) in the BSC before midnight on 28 February 2020. The discount also applies to returns completed by phone and paid with a credit/debit card before the due date.
