Hamilton's Dormello Stud is back in business.
Graeme Rogerson and Denise Howell's farm has been reawakened with the announcement of a new management agreement with Bradbury Park's Casey and Michelle Dando.
"It's a fantastic opportunity for us. It's a lovely farm and the timing couldn't have been better for us," Michelle Dando said.
"We purchased the neighbouring farm but we've still been struggling to take on extra horses because we've been at capacity."
Bradbury Park operates on 45 hectares of farmland at Matamata, with its core business as agistment and sales preparation.
The Dandos will run Bradbury Park in conjunction with Dormello Stud, which once stood the Redoute's Choice stallion Duelled.
"Casey and I will manage the two farms. The mares will foal down at Bradbury Park and once the foals are strong enough they will be moved to Dormello, which is where we will also run the dry mares," Dando said.
"We've got a bit of maintenance work to do at Dormello and we want to change a few of the paddock sizes but this is a great move for us. It's only 45 minutes from our main farm and we think both farms will complement each other nicely."
The picturesque Dormello Stud occupies 40 hectares between Ngahinapouri and Ohaupo.
Howell was delighted to welcome the Dandos as managers of Dormello Stud.
"We're thrilled to have Casey and Michelle on board. We just love their enthusiasm for the industry and their drive and determination to do their best for their clients," she said. – NZ Racing Desk.
