Breeders attending this Saturday's Windsor Park Stud Manawatu Breeders' Stakes race-meeting at Awapuni will enjoy the opportunity to inspect reigning New Zealand Horse of the Year King's Chapel.
But that's not all - every breeder on-course will also have the chance to win an $8000 breeding package prize.
As part of its promotion for this week's $40,000 Listed Manawatu Breeders Stakes, race sponsor Windsor Park Stud is offering breeders the chance to enter a draw to be made on the day to win the $8000 Salute to a Champion prize package. The package can be used towards the cost of sending a mare to any of Windsor Park's stallions this year.
The $8000 breeder's prize draw will take place in the Windsor Park-hosted function room following the running of the feature race. Please note that this promotion is available only to breeders who attend the Manawatu race-meeting and who register with Windsor Park Stud in the on-course function room.
Triple Group One winner King's Chapel retires to Windsor Park Stud this year after an outstanding racing career that saw him judged New Zealand's Champion Three-year-Old, Champion Sprinter/Miler and New Zealand Horse of the Year in 2004. King's Chapel won 10 races and $915,760 in prizemoney. His victories included the $150,000 Mercedes 2YO Colts Prelude at Awapuni, at only his second raceday start.
Windsor Park Stud will also offer all racegoers attending the Manawatu Racing Club's Premier Ford Sires meeting the following week the chance to win a trip for two people to this year's Stradbroke Handicap/Brisbane Cup weekend race-meeting in Australia. The prize includes airfares, accommodation and racetickets will be drawn on the day with free entry forms in the racebook.
All breeders entering the Salute to a Champion prizedraw this week will be included in the draw for the Brisbane Cup package. The winner of the trip to Brisbane must be on-course on Sires' Produce Stakes day to claim the prize.
