For the first time, NZTBA members can complete their Membership Questionnaire online. And, better still, every returned form received by 6 May 2005 will go in a draw to win a case of Lindauer sparkling wine.
This survey has been carried out twice before, in 2000 and 2001, and each time around 50% of members have responded with valuable information about their primary occupations, leisure interests, and the type and level of activity they pursue within the thoroughbred industry. This response rate is considered extraordinary and is a measure of the strong personal commitment members have to their Association.
NZTBA Administration Manager Sally Cassels-Brown says the information gleaned from the survey is important for two key reasons.
"Firstly, it's vital for us to know how our members invest and participate in the thoroughbred industry, so that we can represent their interests accurately and effectively with government and industry organisations."
"And secondly, a clear picture of our members' occupations and personal interests is essential for us to attract commercial partners whose funding provides such valuable support for the Association's work."
Sally adds "All information provided to us is handled in complete confidence. Data is published only in aggregate form eg 82% of NZTBA members race one or more horses, and when our survey analysis is completed, all forms and replies are destroyed."
The 2005 Questionnaire can be completed on the hard-copy form mailed last week to members with the latest NZTBA newsletter, or online via the NZTBA website, here:
