Group One winners Wahid, Seachange & Jokers Wild were among the 131 individual winners of $656,825 in Thoroughbred Bonus Scheme (TBS) prizemoney this season.
So was three-year-old filly Irish Sting, who added $6825 TBS prizemoney to the standard stakes of $7275 she earned from a win, a second and a fifth placing in her five starts between November and February.
And so was two-year-old gelding Keep The Message, winner of $12,650, plus $4050 TBS bonus prizemoney from his win and two seconds this season.

achieving its purpose of increasing returns to owners, trainers and breeders of horses who perform at all levels of competition. It's very satisfying to see TBS bonuses boosting the total season earnings of individual horses by 30% or more.
Leading three-year-old TBS earners
Black Panther (Kaapstad-Toonsie), trained by Richard Yuill at Pukekohe Park for Waka Nathan and owner-breeder Peter Walker, is this season's leading three-year-old (and leading overall) TBS earner with $22,575.
He was followed by Seachange ($21,900), Kay's Awake ($21,900), Wahid ($13,650) and Tatlock ($12,180).
Tatlock was the season's busiest TBS campaigner, earning six individual second and third place bonuses from his eleven starts.
Seachange was the only three-year-old to claim three TBS winner's bonuses, winning B bonus races at Counties and Otaki last spring, and an A bonus race at Woodville in January. Three-year-olds that won two bonus races were: Anca, Black Panther, City Affair, D'Lanach, Kay's Awake, Wahid and Waikeepadacash.
This season's leading sires by winners of three-year-old TBS races were both represented by three winners of three bonus races: Waikato Stud's Pins (sire of Crepe de Chine, Pinmdown and Sheezawake) and O'Reilly (sire of Camponeschi, Irish Sting and Old Belevedere).
Ninety-four individual TBS-qualified three-year-olds collected bonuses (for running 1st, 2nd or 3rd in TBS races) totalling $452,825.
Leading two-year-old TBS earners
Riccarton Park produced the season's leading two-year-old TBS earner, Udititagain (D'Cash-Tio Iris), winner of four bonus payments worth $20,475 for her owners Miss J. M., K. J. & Mrs M. L. Shaw, J. R. & Mrs N. B. Stanbury and trainer Kevin Hughes, who bred the filly in partnership with his wife Pam. Udititagain was also the most active two-year-old TBS-qualified performer this season, earning bonuses in four of her seven starts.
Dual Group One winner Jokers Wild collected $19,125 TBS prizemoney, followed by Don Garcia ($16,425) and Mary Lavelle ($16,425). These four horses, plus Alberto, each won two TBS races.
Leading sires by winners of two-year-old TBS bonus races are Windsor Park Stud's Black Minnaloushe (three winners of four bonus races: Jokers Wild, Jazella and Squall) and Waikato Stud's O'Reilly (two winners of three bonus races: Mary Lavelle and The One).
Thirty-seven individual TBS-qualified two-year-olds won 1st, 2nd or 3rd place bonuses totalling $204,000.

- All New Zealand-born yearlings and all yearlings sold at public auction in New Zealand are eligible
- No limit on the number of bonuses that can be won
- Two bonus levels of $15,000 and $7,500
- Bonuses available over 2yo, 3yo & 4yo seasons
- Open to fillies, colts and geldings
- Payout to owners and trainers of horses placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd
- Nominators of winning horses receive 10% of the total bonus
