John brought international supersire Danehill to Australia in 1990 and now manages the career of his champion sire son Redoute's Choice. He led the development of stallion shuttling and as a bloodstock entrepreneur is second to none.
John will be interviewed during the evening by the NZTBA's Susan Archer on several topics. John holds strong views, is known for his frankness in an interview situation and is sure to have interesting opinions on a number of subjects.
In addition, twelve Auckland breeders will receive awards for Group-winning performances in a wonderful 2005-06 season headed by Railing's Caulfield Cup success. Other awards to be presented during the evening will be Auckland Breeder of the Year, Auckland Broodmare of the Year and the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the industry. These awards are significant achievements credits to any breeder, and recognise the effort, passion and investment that produces the horses we all enjoy watching.
A Silent Auction will offer some very attractive items, including Trackside TV airtime, an annual subscription to Arion Pedigrees and entry to the NZ Punter of the Year, as well as a live auction for entry to the New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Series
The host for the evening will be the entertaining and knowledgable Andrew 'Butch' Castles.
