The Auckland branch of the NZTBA are delighted to announce that trainer of the famed Black Caviar, Peter Moody, will be the guest speaker at their annual awards dinner to be held at Ellerslie Racecourse on Friday, 17th August.
Sponsored by New Zealand Bloodstock Insurance, the Auckland Branch dinner recognises the success of the Auckland-bred racehorse with the 2011/2012 another successful one for the region including VRC Derby-winner Sangster (NZ) (Savabeel) and, Singapore Derby-winner Chase Me (NZ) (Storm Creek).
In recent years, the Auckland branch has introduced a new element to the awards dinner and have invited some leading industry figures to take part in an interview-type discussion. Past speakers have included John Messara, Graeme Rogerson, Steve Brem, Bob Skelton and Bob Vance, Trevor Lobb and last year, Chris Waller.
2012 will see Peter Moody, trainer of the world's best sprinter, Black Caviar, take centre stage where he will be interviewed by Steve Davis about his training career and of course, the feats of the unbeaten current Queen of the Turf – Black Caviar.
"We are honoured that Peter has agreed to be our guest speaker and I am sure he will provide plenty of entertainment," says Auckland Branch NZTBA President, David Moore. "Peter is a great character and I'm sure there will be a few entertaining tales to be told," he said.
