The New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Association has appointed Nicola Griffiths to the position of Office Manager, following the retirement of Sally Cassels-Brown after 28 years.
Nicola brings to her new role a long-standing interest in equestrian sports and a strong professional background in the thoroughbred industry, administration, marketing and client liaison.
Nicola has most recently worked as the Insurance Manager for Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers and before that filled a similar role for 14 years with leading Australian auction house William Inglis & Son Ltd in Sydney.
NZTBA Chief Executive Michael Martin says, "I'm delighted to welcome Nicola to the Association and look forward to working with her. Nicola's appointment marks the first stage of our move to Cambridge after 25 years in our own office at the Ellerslie Racecourse."
Nicola begins work with the NZTBA on 1 September from offices in central Cambridge.
The NZTBA, established in 1948, has 1700 members and represents their interests and those of the wider thoroughbred industry on key issues ranging from education, bloodstock taxation and equine health to research and marketing. The Association also owns and administers the NZB Insurance Pearl Bonus Scheme and publishes the annual NZ Stallion Register.
