In 1935 Mr.W.T.(Tom) Oliver, of Fairfax, in Western Southland, purchased Rodeur after two unplaced starts
as a two-year-old from Mr.L.W. Storry, of Christchurch, and thus began the Mongolian Khan story.

Trained at Riverton throughout her career Rodeur won ten races, Southland RC Flying Handicap, Short's Handicap,
Riverton RC Aparima Handicap, Farewell Handicap, 9 wins for trainer R.(Bob) McNay, and one win for trainer
A. (Andy) McKay.

At stud her first foal was Faithful Pal, 9 1/2 wins, CJC Craven Plate, then followed Excellency, 16 wins, the best racemare ever to be trained in Southland.

Excellency was unbeaten in five starts as a two-year-old, Dunedin JC McLean Stakes, Winton Stakes,

Stakes at Riccarton Excellency beat the leading North Island filly Lady Christine (Christopher Robin)
