What is your role?
Marketing Executive – New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing.
What does a typical day look like for you?
We have a small team at NZTM, so our roles are varied. We could be writing and editing stories, creating ads, researching statistics, or organising tours.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Writing stories on the success of lesser-known breeders in the industry.
What part of your job would you delegate if you could?
Nothing.
How did you become involved in the thoroughbred breeding industry?
I have always loved horse racing and was initially involved with standardbreds. I trained as a journalist and worked in the agriculture sector for a number of years before following my passion for horses and started working for Trackside. I was then hired for my current role at New Zealand Thoroughbred Marketing.

If you could shadow someone in the thoroughbred breeding industry for a day who would it be?
Andrew Birch. I have been doing it for nearly six years and I think he’s about to file a restraining order.
